Clare City Police Department

            The Clare City Police Department welcomes our first K-9 Officer Swiper to the department.  Officer Wiper is a 6 year old Belgian Malinios, who will start working with Officer Gregory.   Officer Gregory has trained thousand of police K-9’s, and is a Master K-9 Instructor.  Officer Swiper has prior service with Antrim County Sheriff’s Office, where he served until the K-9 program was disbanded. 

Officer Swiper is a dual purpose trained K-9.  This means he is trained to search for items, people and drugs.  This is not the first K-9 teamed with Officer Gregory who was a K-9 Officer for numerous years while working as a Sheriff Deputy.
